3 ways to wear a slogan tee

Ever feel like no one is listening to you? Then it’s definitely time to indulge in this season’s most outspoken trend: the slogan tee. It was a runway success with countless designers getting their words seen and, as a result… heard. House of Holland didn’t hold back with bold tees emblazoned with “Let’s Get Obscene Cara Delevingne” or “Give Us A Toss Karlie Kloss” , while Haider Ackerman advocated “Be Your Own Hero“. However, it was Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior who won the hearts and support of women everywhere with “We Should All Be Feminists” – a stylish nod to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s 2012 TED talk of the same name.

And don’t for a second think that this is a trend reserved for youth or for dress down Friday. The tee (much like trainers) has had a reinvention; it’s cool and incredibly chic. Yes, you can still throw said piece on with jeans or denim cut-offs, but now you can also team with tuxedo trousers, pencil skirts or midis. A t-shirt is the ultimate nod to effortless style, especially when worn with heels and oversized swishy earrings. So go forth and share your feelings. Make a statement – no, wear a statement.
